"Australian researchers have for the first time diagnosed a female athlete with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a progressive degenerative brain disease caused by repeated head injuries, in a finding which will have major implications for women’s sport.

The Australian rules footballer and Adelaide premiership player Heather Anderson died in November 2022 at the age of 28, with her unexpected death the subject of an ongoing coronial investigation."

So this afternoon I will probably have the AFL Aussie Rules game on tv in the background - Hawthorn and Geelong.

Usually I would expect to be watching it properly, but what would have been a block-buster in other years is this year a contest between 17th and 18th. 😅

New paper in the Asia-Pacific Economic History Review @apehr (formerly Australian Eco His Rev) shows that the purpose-built Australian Rules football stadium in Melbourne that was opened in 1970 increased attendance & revenue.
