In what countries do the government compensate authors for library loans of their books and what are your schemes called?

Great news out of Australia today that Australian authors who have enjoyed a lending right system (PLR & ELR) for print books for years (ie: we get paid per loan to compensate us for the book sale), will now also be compensated for ebook and audiobook loans (DLR)! Great comments from new government Arts minister about the importance of the arts too after years of neglect.

This is huge news! For readers what it means is that you can borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your library and know that the author is receiving some financial gain for it (just as with print books). Given the average earnings for Australian writers falls well below the poverty line (see the 2022 National Survey of Australian Book Authors), this change can make a very big difference.
