While I didn't actually watch the program, looking at the birdsite turned letter between W and Y, it was interesting to note that Gogglebox Australia this week reviewed a show on Netflix titled Down For Love.

Further research tells me that "Down For Love" is a dating show from New Zealand for people with Downs Syndrome. Hmm, it really doesn't take much to guess which show from Australia the basic format of this one was inspired by! 🤔

Personally, I wonder if the ABC and Northern Pictures are looking at "Down For Love" as a major missed opportunity especially after the flop that was Better Date Than Never earlier this year?

Either way, one wonders if/when Australian commercial TV will try and do a take on this "compassionate, documentary-style" format of dating TV for the neurotypical majority. Which of course isn't without flaws but overall, still better overall than MAFS, Bachelor/ette, Love Island, First Dates and others of that calibre.

Just watched In Limbo on ABC and it's nice to finally see an Australian TV show that actually looks like the people who live in Australia - seven characters of colour, including three Indian/Pakistani women; and two Maori men.

It's a drama/comedy that deals with men's mental health issues.

Decided I was done with #MASH for a while. Switched over to the #AustralianTV show Emergency. Season 2.

Australian TV shows (eg Fisk, Utopia) have plots about assistants getting lunch for the boss...but in most places I've worked this doesn't happen. The boss gets their own lunch due to not being in childcare.

The only place I did see this was when I worked for a TV show.

But maybe I've been unusually blessed to work for people so competent they can organise their own food.

Is it still common for bosses to routinely make their assistants get their lunch? Or is it a TV thing?

It is not lost on me that Channel 10’s top three shows are #GoggleboxAU (a Foxtel co-pro), and #HYBPA and #CheapSeatsAU (made by the legendary Working Dog). *Everything* else is miles behind - both in ratings and quality. Apart from moving Gogglebox to 7:30pm to prop up The Real Love Boat Australia all three appear somewhere between 8:35pm-9:03pm when in-season. They literally have nothing else that is competitive or comes close to delivering an audience to the struggling Network. Paramount continue to shred their budgets, leaving them in a diabolical position where they are unable to really do much to fix it. These three winning shows are, without question, deeply engaging and entertaining TV. 10 need to take more risks and remove their dependence on failing stripped reality. #AustralianTV #Media
