Hooves Leave Earth

In a game of rules, so neatly laid,
Keeping them, a challenge in the shade,
A quantum leap, a dance so grand,
A cow takes flight, in moonlit land.

The moon, it shines, a distant goal,
But it's the leap that claims the soul,
Boxes of life, on shelves they rest,
Dusty tales, by time caressed.

A sober mind in tailored grace,
A conservative suit, a serious face,
His father's memory, forever keen,
Wheat grains hung, like dreams unseen.

"If the world should end," his father spoke,
"Seeds we'll need, for life's rebroke,
Hang them there, on that timber door,
Hope for renewal, forevermore."

Yet with age, the questions came,
Challenging logic's steady frame,
"If the world should fall," the son dared ask,
"No soil to sow, no future task."

An earnest voice, a weighty thought,
In the echo of words, a truth was caught,
To open doors, step out and roam,
A life of choices, a soul's new home.

His mother's image, from darkness sprung,
A memory's tune, softly sung,
Things align, as if fated to be,
A jigsaw puzzle, a mystery.

For the first time, the world's allure,
A kaleidoscope of values pure,
A pattern shifted, a new design,
Broken glass forms colors divine.

The light of this world, a radiant guide,
In patterns of life, we now confide,
A geometrical shift, ego's refrain,
Harmony found in broken pain.

So let the cow leap, let the moon glow,
In the heart's quantum dance, we find the flow,
It's in the leap, the step unbound,
A world of wonder, forever found.

So it's all very well, to set the stage,
But the leap's the thing, on wisdom's page,
The cow, the moon, they play their part,
But it's in the leap, we find our heart.

I wrote this in an introduction to the Sky Map of The Flotillas of Hope and it had a subheading "To Those Who Know". Now almost 20 years later, I feel the same way that this kind of 'knowing' marks one as an Outsider, an Outlier. And that's OK with me >>

Somehow you’ve come to the conclusion that at the very heart of matter, at the turning point of decisions, at the core of bone marrow, molecule, atom, neutrino and pepperino there is an intelligence operating.You know that Earth is a stone with a lick of moisture on its surface orbiting about a type G star we call the Sun. You don’t disdain science and you also know that there is a blueprint of the whole of Creation.This blueprint, this plan , this informational map is embedded within every atom, cell, organism and living whole from a sand flea to Andromeda, from a child playing with a ball to the Milky Way. How you came about this knowledge is your business. It could have been through a book. It could have been a friend who told you. It could have been a certain altered state of mind that led you to this knowledge. It doesn’t really matter where you got your knowledge or even how. The important thing is that you know that there is an imperishable spirit in every piece of matter, in every volume and in every measure. This means that there is an imperishable immortal part of human nature. It is here and now, we only have to slice through the onion layers of conditioning to see it. This knowledge we are speaking about is certain knowledge. It is an X ray vision of the imperishable in matter. It is not a mere belief and neither is it an open conclusion of faith. It is certain knowledge based on direct experience...nothing is in the way. Having this knowledge gives a different spin on the Earth as a stone orbiting a medium sized type G star.In fact having this knowledge makes words like Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto mean something different to hunks of rock gravitationally stuck in orbits about the Sun. They are verbs in one context and gods in another. They are as far removed from the astronomical planets and Sun as green cheese is to the moon. This is where the possession of this knowledge instead of bringing fame and fortune will bring instead ridicule and laughter, sometimes scorn and banishment. The possession of this knowledge has marked you as an outsider. Even though it is invisible, your mark of Cain is your knowledge. If you are lucky you may have found a way to manifest secretly and keep a semblance of an ordinary householder life. Being an invisible outsider gives you great opportunities to observe and learn how to be a partner in creation. For this is what it comes down to. In essence humans are not a symbol of the Universe – we are the Universe and in this kind of partnership we all do our bit or we get flushed out of existence. Where’s our immortality then? It’s still there waiting for another to clothe it.

I wrote this hoping I'd get some music put to it but never happened. Inspired by a guy who gave me the shits when they cldnt get off their BS ego trip in my home, decades ago. Some1 close 2 me 'begged' me not 2 kick him out. The guy didn't become a big star but has fans even now.

upon that star spangled conveyor
tracing crackling electronic space .

You're a market mega - star now,
all the media take a bow .
With your patent mark of Cain,
you sell your alienated pain .

You're a sight to see
a Wanted poster on "la Godot's tree".
With your well rehearsed stance
cloned by all in rebel lands.

Money dealers ride your soul
with spurs of what's cool.
Between the ads and the time
your image echoes glamour crime .

Your roots are now avant - garde
post purist art your union card .
You don't know where you are ,
but now you're a great big star .

Looking at an old photo of my mum & me with my 2 brothers outside our terrace in Redfern, Sydney Australia. We must've just returned from church. Across the street they were demolishing houses to make way for Housing Commission flats.

I wrote this beginning of something I haven't completed. Below dotted line

First came the men in suits, then the bulldozers and the trucks, then the porta loos and cranes. Each day saw another house, shop, tree and a child’s doll knocked down and pulverised. Things that mattered all turned to scrap and dust. The bull dozers scraped the rubble into piles of broken bricks, concrete slabs, shattered glass and newspaper. The dust rose from under the wheels and steel jaws of the machines and swirled in the breeze. In that part of Redfern, Sydney the whole street breathed the demolition dust so holding your breath was hard. It got into clothes and between cracks along walls’ edges and footpaths. For Athena and her son Kosta, a walk down Young Street was not the easiest place to breathe.
For over three months, every day, people on Athena’s side of the road swept away sand and dust that blew from across the street onto their doorsteps. If they weren’t quick enough shutting the front door, the wind blew the sand down their narrow hallways. Every house had something tucked behind the crack between the door and the floor. Old towels, old clothes tied together, anything to stop the debris entering their homes by the wind.
As Athena opened the door, she said, “Kosta, close it quickly. We don’t want a desert in our house.” Kosta took a long look at the growing rock piles across the street. The wind blown sand prickled against his face and arms. He stepped into the hallway, sand grains tick, tick, ticked in pitter- patter against the shut door behind him.

Well, instead of peace & love directed at yours truly the audience close to me started yelling abuse at me. Did Muktananda tell them 2 cool it? Nah. So, being a nice guy I left with my 3 kids.

At the time I didn't know this guru was supposed to be siddha powerful. To me he was just an Indian guy who was supposed to be holy. I didn't think he was.

A few yrs later I wrote something inspired by that encounter - don't know if it's a poem ...it's intention was lyrics for a song...but I didn't get the music done. Here it is "I'm A Holy Man".
