“It’s not canon if it wasn’t in the script” really privileges words over everything else. And while that might make sense in terms of written literature, it doesn’t make much sense in terms of television and film, which are collaborative processes.
Setting aside the obvious #ReaderResponse criticism, for the moment, relying on #AuthorialIntention is all well and good, but it doesn’t account for things like “ActorialIntention,” et al.
