Something I haven't seen mentioned in this thread. #Mastodon provides an absolutely #authoritative identity. *if* your organization puts up a mastodon server, like mastodon.cnn.com so a message coming from for instance @wolf.blitzer@mastodon.cnn.com is guaranteed to come from cnn.com
This is actually more authoritative than blue checkmarks ever were.
