Managed some chores. Didn't cook. Self-care is hard right now.

Heatwave ends tonight, which will help. Still hoping to format Earth soon.

Gute Nacht, Freunde.

Lazy day. Spent most of it reading comfort books, and that was a good decision. Feeling calmer now.

Also finally ditched Chrome and shifted stuff to Firefox.

Tomorrow is the last day of the heat wave in Germany. At least today wasn't so bad up here in the north. Still, this is scary stuff.

Tomorrow, I also hope to write more Wolves, edit Earth and generally get stuff done.

Who am I kidding?

Lost myself in a book last night, and then just crawled into bed.

I did write 600 words for the new Wolf book, which feels good. First step is getting them to Germany, and then I will get them into trouble.

Mwuahahhahaha.

It does take quite a mental effort to shift from the Winds to the Wolves (and yes, I'm still polishing Earth and getting that book ready).

Read a lot. Chatted with the Writing Club. Renewed my soul.

No writing today.

Office day and a store run in the middle of a heat wave have done me in. I tried sitting in the shade and sipping some soda...

In truth, nothing much happened after I got home. Yes, some reading, some social media, a phone call with my mom (which is also not exactly invigorating) and that's about all.

Going to crawl into bed early, hoping I can cool down my apartment over night (more heat tomorrow), and that's it.

Do you hide Easter eggs in your work?

Sometimes.

It's usually something about other stories of mine. But in one manuscript I use the name of a friend for a side char (with his permission).

But it's not something I do regularly or with much planning. Sorry. Most often, the joke's on me.

Gute Nacht, Freunde.

Wrote almost 700 words for Earth - the final chapter. Tomorrow, I'll write the epilogue, and then it'll be DONE!

Of course, I need to clean up the end a little and then format the whole thing (and do one final read-through), but I'm getting so much closer to a release that I can already smell it!

Which makes me very happy.

I'm having a pretty good day today, with a morning walk, home office and an afternoon nap.

This is the good life!

Wrote almost 600 words tonight. Earth is a rather overwhelmed at all the people in Iceburg.

I did go out to ride the ferry all the way up the inlet, hoping to create something fun for me to do on weekends. The ride was good, but once I got there, I wasn't in the mood for anything. So I took the next bus home and lost myself in some romance.

I'll take the little laptop next time and see if I can write in the café.

Wrote 500 words for Earth. Would love to share a snippet, but there are just too many spoilers right now - this is the final chapter where I wind down many threads.

I also went for a long walk this morning, which feels very good.

Spent much of the day gaming and soothing my mind, also reading story after story in a charity anthology. I needed to recover after each one, though. Romance is not always an easy read.

No writing today (*sigh*), but I met my Mastermind buddy this morning, and we hashed out a new production schedule for me:

Next: Finishing and getting Earth and Sky published.

Writing A Wolf's Christmas first, so I can publish that in time for, well, Christmas. A Wolf's Hacker will be pushed into next year.

Sun, Moon and Spirit will also not happen before 2024.

Next German book is on hold.

And I really need to find my writing mojo.

Today was the second office day of the week, and that usually means my brain melted by noon.

I took it easy on my way home, strolled down a shopping street and walked through the park. Made good food, played a game, read a comfort book.

Spent the evening chatting with the Creative Writing Club, which was good fun.

And no, I didn't obsessively check sales reports to catch the first sale of my new book, no, I didn't. (Narrator: Lies.)

First day back in the seat after a long weekend off.

Formatted ebook and print for the German doorstopper (145k words!), and feeling daring, I already uploaded and published the epub. Snagged a template for the print cover after uploading the print file.

Links tomorrow (but the ebook is already live in a few stores).

I feel strange. Never really expected to publish this book, but my mastermind friend gave me a nudge. And now it is done.

Got home today, in the early afternoon. Train ride was uneventful, but I put on a mask after an old man started coughing hard near me. We'll see.

Took it easy and rested for a bit, because yesterday was a crash day after all the excitement of meeting my friend and participating in her birthday party.

Spent the evening fixing the missing italics in the coming German doorstopper. Will write an intro tomorrow and fix the backmatter.
