2FA is nice, but when you get the double whammy of losing access to the google authenticator on your phone and SSD crash, with the backup codes, within the same week, the number of hoops you have to jump through to recover your youtube account is a HUGE PITA.
Main reason why i don't use ga anymore, it's #Authy because it can be backed up.
recovered my new project's old youtube channel, locked down the corresponding discord and twitchtv channel names... i think i'm all set for the reset
Looking for some ideas from the community: how do you back up your #TOTP keys? I'm currently thinking of just putting them in a spreadsheet, encrypting the file with a password, and putting it in my cloud backup, but want to know what others do first.
I'm currently using #Authy for cross-device sync, but they lack key export features. That makes me feel gross, so I'm migrating to Aegis Authenticator on #Android. Of course, that creates this new problem.
Learned today that TOTP is all about the seed! If you're using Authy or want to get better security on yourbacdounts, I recommend watching this video.

Today in “I'm glad people are using Electron", I injected code to #Authy to export my SendGrid OTP into #1Password.
And then deleted Authy, I hate Authy.
And I'm no fan of electron, but having the ability to modify apps as I please is very nice :)
Transferring data between old and new (#Android) mobiles is turning out better than I hoped.
New phone installing same apps + password manager covered many cases.
2FA TOTP tokens are easy enough (#Authy is king 👑). Microsoft tokens are workable as well.
Final steps before switching over will be moving chat apps.
I have officially moved all of my 2FA stuff out of Authy and over to Aegis.
I will no longer use Authy and I would encourage nobody else to do so either as it's one of the worst 2FA apps ever made for several reasons.

I'm still leaving #1password over their #telemetry plans, but I am not sure I like #Bitwarden as an option.
All over the documentation are index-cards of licensing "clarification", like they are monetizing individual checkboxes. Past experience suggests I will invariably need a feature that pushes my personal use to enterprise licensing.
For fun, lets paraphrase the #OTP page: https://bitwarden.com/help/authenticator-keys/
> Bitwarden does #TOTP just like #Authy and #Google! Unless your license is wrong, in which case it stores the TOTP.
Quick, ask your closest non-tech what the difference is. This is especially bad because users are now likely to c&p the SECRET instead!
While the lawyer reviews your OTP license, do you want to share an entry with a friend? OK! We got this! If you are on our AlphaPrime plan, you can share 1 item with 6 recipients, if those recipients are also AlphaPrime of course. You may need to upgrade to our AlphaBetson plan and...

@iode I'm in love and hardcore users of #StickyPassword , with #Authy for 2FA
Made the switch from #Authy to #Bitwarden (via #Vaultwarden) for 2FA generation. The process already feels much slicker

Y a Korben qui pose un article ou il propose une solution pour exporter les tokens 2FA depuis #Authy.
Il n’y a qu’à moi que l’export de 2FA pose un souci au niveau de la sécurité ? 🤔
What #2fa #authenticator app is your favorite? I am considering switching away from #microsoft authenticator into #1password or #authy for their Mac OS and Windows integrations.
