One of the cruelest jokes society plays on the community is drilling into the brains of very young children with a predisposition for creative, out of the box problem solving, and telling them that they themselves are, in fact, The Problem.

It's only a month until Autism Bewareness Month. I want to do something proactive and useful, but as usual it feels like our community is too scattered to align and act towards a common goal, so I wonder if we can do anything but react when someone does the usual big pro-ABA fundraiser.

OK sorry about the flip humor. I'm talking about , which we would prefer to call , but in my head I always think of as because that's the main message we see.

Is anyone working on a thing for ? I'm trying not to have big ideas because they are too much to take on, but if I could do one thing, it would be to try to get YouTube creators to stop adding background music to their videos for a day or a week.

Why do people think it's better to talk over music? It makes it hard to pay attention to what they are saying. And hearing the same 30 seconds of a whimsical oboe solo looped for 20 minutes makes my ears bleed.

How do we get YouTubers to leave out the background music, or to offer a second version of the video without the music? I'd guess that someone with a lot of platform clout would have to help get it going, and I don't have any connections there.

Anyone know how to get something like this going on YT? Or is there some other effort worth doing for AAM?
