My son DJ made the podium in the 200 Free relay at NCAA’s as a freshmen. He’s a 17-year-old collegiate All-American. He’s the one with his eyes closed in the picture because he doesn’t like having his picture taken. I may be crying a bit. So proud of this kid. As a bonus, a lot of #developers work remotely.

edit: I should probably mention that I am studying #computerScience and I have an #aspergers diagnosis. I am aware that it is all just #autismSpectrum now, but it's namesake, Hans Asperger saved a ton of #autistic children from concetration camps by convincing the #nazi government that they would be an asset.

@aspiememes I always read your posts. There is a lot I can relate to - although not officially in the #autismspectrum

One tip: spread them out over time more. So: same Toots but then spread across the day.

Now they come in bursts which makes it harder to casually read them. It's a bit intense this way.

Developmental disabilities（autism,ADHD) in Japan, even the medical and welfare models are not progressing. Also, the movements of people with disabilities are not as strong as those in other countries. So I hope more books on social movements from abroad will be translated and become available.

@Nicsym @Richard_Littler @actuallyautistic I am on the #autismspectrum and when I was young and well into my late teens I gravitated toward the #slapstick humor because I did not get the nuances of #sarcasm. Now that I get those nuances later in adulthood, I have a strong preference towards the dry, sarcastic humor style. But it took me a long time to develop the awareness to appreciate it.

I can’t remember if I posted a welcome toot. I’m a #podiatrist, #inventor, #communitytheater #actor and #director, and person who likes to #create and then #rest. I parented three boys, two of which are on the #autismspectrum. I mostly come on here to see #beautifulimages and to boost #kind and #brave people. I am not interested in social media fame, but rather being part of a healthy community.

I have a 'friend' group in university, but sadly, I never feel like I fit in with them. But hey, at least I can say to my parents that I've made 'friends' and I am not a loner in university (even though I do enjoy being alone). #autism #autismspectrum
