Ordered myself a pair of (ear plugs with specific level of sound reduction) and I cannot wait for them to arrive! They are very expensive so I've been saving to buy them (I paid 44 euro incl. postage), but I keep seeing other people using them successfully so I have wanted them for ages. Bought a pretty pink colour, as I shamelessy adore pink. 🌸

@br00t4c I'm and I approve of defining how many ice cubes. One arrives at these data by experimentation, not whim.

All too familiar to folk

The longer we stay in danger zone (a space of sensory/information overwhelm) the more we deplete our capacity to cope. If we can’t escape, eventually we shut down/melt down.

How to fix? Recognise our danger zones & give permission to mitigate or avoid them

This is my first article in English. Here, I will share some tips based on my experience of studying technical content and explain how it works for me. I experience hyperfocus and anxiety, which make it challenging for me to learn through audio or video, as I am susceptible to sound stimuli.

Ngl if the phrase 'everyone is a little bit autistic' could just die, I'd be so much happier.

I was diagnosed aged 63. As I passed my mid-50s, my and 'features' became a lot more obvious, to me, and to those who know me.

I wonder why they emerged so suddenly and so obviously, when they had been much less apparent in my younger years...?

And yes, this is an / perpetual vibe. Other vibes for your consideration:
Feeling like you're drowning, or treading water, but all the time
Feeling like you're perpetually falling into a dark sinkhole or quicksand
Feeling like you're stuck being bumped around in a dryer on its spin cycle
That eery feeling of "the world is moving too quickly around me and I am moving too slowly"

@actuallyautistic Theory on why most people don't see, and/or respect, hierarchy.

What is hierarchy? It's the leaderboard of the competition our present society is based on. It pretends to be an organizational structure, but hierarchy is not a prerequisite for organization.

What is a competition? A test that determines who gets to receive something someone else has to go without.

We don't care for hierarchy because we don't believe anyone should go without, so we aren't competing.

One of the problems highlighted by these coroners is “late diagnosis of autism”.

Where I live, for children, the time from referral to clinical assessment/diagnosis is currently TWO YEARS. For adults it is THREE YEARS. And then they sneer at private diagnoses.

They also identify “a lack of trained staff with an understanding of autism”, so good luck getting on the referral pathway at all.

Again, this government and this country do not care if you suffer and die.
