Curious to hear what other @autistics have experienced with ND-related generational trauma, especially around friendship/community issues!

My therapist insightfully noticed that many of my social issues have a generational component - both my (undiagnosed) ND parents led pretty lonely lives and had trouble maintaining friendships. As a result, I lacked role models for healthy friendships growing up, and ended up in a lot of bad situations because I didn't know any better!

I'm fortunate to have never experienced this, but I'm sure predatory religions have played a factor here for many other neurodivergent families. 😞

Happy to announce I signed a book deal yesterday with Jessica Kingsley Publishers for a second #AutisticAdult book. 🎉

This one is looking at socialising and communication. I am learning so much while researching for this book, but I really notice a large gap in the amount of research in this area. As usual, most research focuses on #AutisticChildren only.

As little research as there is for speaking autistic adults, there is almost nothing on non speaking adults.

My brain picked a motto this week as I applied for a temporary out-of-state job and considered formalizing the first draft of my next workbook. What these techniques did for me?

Transferred wealth to the professional class.

Nothing more.

And did I mention that consistency & persistance are laughable for this spoonie?
