@atomicpoet @gunther @fediversenews #automod should be your first line of defence. For protecting as well as quality control.

Let's take a simple example, the You-Should-Know #subreddit. If your title doesn't start with YSK, the automod automatically removes it.

Another one is in the #3dprinting communities, where you mention stuff like auto bed leveling. The mod also removes your post. Because most of the time, it is a newbie that just didn't try at all.

Doing such simple tasks as a moderator would be impossible, and with new AI possibilities, I really think automods will greatly improve. We can use them to recognize hate speech and other low tear quality posts.

#Mastodon #instances will really need them when stuff starts picking up. Currently, it is clear that most people here actually behave, and I have not yet blocked and muted any people on Mastodon at all, nor have I seen any messed up shit. I was quite surprised by this.
