I know that Adobe has a $30 app that MAY do it, but that seems kind of ridiculous for day-to-day non commercial use, even it does convert existing images to HDR. This is just for my personal curiosity to tinker with.
Note that this is 'real' HDR photos and images that require an HDR monitor / TV for proper viewing.

We have a bit of a challenge in that our post scheduling tool doesn't support Alt Text so a couple of times a day I have to visit all the posts with images and manually add Alt Text afterwards.
There's a problem in Mastodon with certain link preview images in WebP of AVIF (https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/14983) so for some sources we need to put images in manually.

op een #iMac uit 2009 die nog elke dag #dienst #doet
GIMP heeft ook een #leercurve maar niet al te #stijl als je ervaring hebt met andere #fotosoftware
dat het #OpenSource is, vind ik een goed punt
de #nieuwe #fotoformaten worden #native #ondersteund op #AVIF na - dat is kennelijk nog te nieuw
succes met je #zoektocht

nu het #AVIF formaat nog - uh - yep ik kan de formaten wel zien, maar nog niet maken 🤓
