Turns out if you have an Element (air quality monitor) and a Unifi-based network, they don't always play together nicely. Still figuring out how to get it working, even knowing what causes it:

(Also in praise of other who publish this kinda blogs, because that's what put me on the trail of the possible cause in the first place - properly credited in the blog off course).

Ok! My is talking to my:

And a few other things. Can't seem to find a custom integration for my LoRaWAN security system. There's no public API I'm aware of, but was hoping not to have to reverse engineer it.

Probably time for bed. Good thing I can now switch on my electric blanket from my phone!

So yeah, if there's ever any question on the indoor air impact of nail polish... here's some data for you. VoCs took off throughout the house, and at 0 degrees Fahrenheit, I'm not about to vent. Guess I'm stuck with this crap until morning. Ugh. Smart house is angry.

Data gathered using local API for units. Three Omni (business) units, one Element. Two story house, central air. Units are two per floor, behind doors, so VoCs are traveling through the HVAC into the closed rooms.

VoCs can be the result of cleaning compounds or electric heating elements.

Ick.
