For anyone who wants to day-drink in Yoyogi Park under the cherry blossoms on March 26th, 2023, I have something for you.
There's still about 50 minutes remaining to grab a deeply discounted ticket to the party. The prices go up at the stroke of midnight, so act fast.

There's a lot more info at the above link, but I have attached my first bottle reveal to give you an idea of the quality that awaits ticketed guests. Kanpai!
A good read related to a press tour we organized in October for Japan-based journalists. This piece is by Tokyo resident Melinda Joe (not sure if she’s on Mastodon), who frequently writes about delicious things. #awamori #koji #okinawa

Paging #Brooklyn, NY! Rule of Thirds, one of the most amazing venues in the city, is hosting an exclusive #awamori tasting which features bottles shipped directly from #Okinawa for the occasion. This Thursday (short notice, sorry!), you can be one of the few to have tried these brands outside #Japan. Tickets at the link below. Kari-!

I was reminded of this bottle of ‘Tosa Awamori’ in my collection. REIHOKU is a unique #awamori expression for a few reasons:
1) it’s made in Shikoku (so can’t be called Ryukyu Awamori)
2) 25% ABV (awamori is typically at least 30)
3) fermented with Japanese rice (awamori is usually made with long-grained rice from Thailand)

We have been on the receiving end of multiple violations over the past two years. Our #shochu and #awamori containers have been left on docks for weeks on end without explanation. And the prices are extortionate. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/14/business/federal-maritime-commission-global-shipping.html
