One of the first books I read was "a Wind in the Door." Throughout the years, I've often thought back to this in regards to the power of naming a thing, as Adam named that which lived in the Garden of Eden. To define a thing, to assign it a category, is to make it real, tangible. Through a year spent dating a trans guy, and many years associating very closely with furries, I've had many opportunities to revisit and refine my thoughts and feelings on this topic. I've come to be far more desirous of an ability to define my own existence; the more delineations I create, the more I feel the infinity of possibilities for life diminish. Surety is comforting, but dammit, I ain't a cat, and I don't want to be put in anybody's boxes! I long to simply BE. I long for Tao.
