@colin The only extensions I'm aware of are the official #AzureDevOps #AzurePipelines extension (https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=ms-azure-devops.azure-pipelines) and the Azure Pipelines YAML Validator (https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=TomAustin.azure-devops-yaml-pipeline-validator).
Honestly, I find the best experience is editing #yaml pipelines in the web editor. It's not great for editing template yaml files though.
This SO post (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53041678/is-there-a-tool-to-validate-an-azure-devops-pipeline-locally) has some suggestions on running pipelines locally. I haven't tried any yet myself tho
