Today's photo: Baarsjesweg (1890). Baarsjesweg and Kostverlorenvaart viewed towards the north. The bridge was called Tolbrug; it was later replaced by the present-day Wiegbrug. To the left the wheel of a portage machine can be seen. It was used to pull boats from the polder to the left across the dike into the Kostverlorenvaart. The windmill in the background is the Samson.
