@rrwo @Perl Personally, I would probably do it that way if I needed a quick solution. For something like that, is really good. I sometimes use something like this in the () world. For babashka, there are so-called pods that you can use to integrate external programs (programming languages) via a defined protocol. As I said, the advantage is that you don't need python and golang on the target system.

I think the biggest thing that brings to is simplicity. It’s never been easier to start with Clojure. And not just something watered down. Full REPL driven development in pretty much all of the editors.

i like both, and , quite a bit, so i actually found it pretty hard to vote here 😄
probably i'd go for lua, as i see more use cases for myself there, like gamedev & modding which are not covered as well by other languages.

but like @rberger i'd recommend if you want to experience something different. in combination with i use it for all my scripting and i use the normal clojure for all my prototyping. you can use it for production ready stuff too, of course. i'm just someone who jumps from prototype to prototype 😅

then there's also , which is very much inspired by clojure, but compiles to lua 🤪

I find the concepts of quite interesting and exciting. Something like this should have existed earlier in the "Java" world. Too bad still gets too little attention. would probably not exist without the graalvm. graalvm.org/why-graalvm/

@rrwo The core of Perl has either old modules that I have never used or simple basic things (like a json parser etc.) are missing. Sorry, that's my opinion. I find Perl as a language personally really good. But otherwise the tooling or the core is absolutely not up to date. If I didn't have to, I wouldn't use perl for new applications. Otherwise something like or even (if I have to).
Or I find environments like currently extremely exciting.

@jayeless but just ignore it, because some really useful stuff for the community comes from these people.

I am currently very happy about the community. I was just at the and I was really happy about how diverse and open this community is, it really gave me hope. I hope there will be a clear distance from people who publicly support policies that, for example, reject homosexuals or approve of wars of aggression (Angriffskriege), etc.

@borkdude This opens up completely new possibilities, e.g. to use raylib under clojurescript easily.
