Auch wenn die #Türme etwas höher 💪geworden sind, #Gott braucht immer noch einen weitern Weg und eine große 🔎 Lupe 🔍 um das zu entdecken, worauf wir oft so stolz sind.

Ich möchte lieber Stolz auf meinen großen 💟 Gott sein - dann komme ich aus dem Staunen jedenfalls nicht mehr raus.😍

150 Seiten von #rfkuang 's #babel lassen mich hier tief beeindruckt zurück. Was für eine schmerzhafte Kolonialismusaufbereitung in Fantasyform ist das denn? Bin gespannt, wie sich dieser dicke Wälzer weiter entwickelt.

Interessantes Alltagsdetail. In #babel beschreibt #rfkuang , dass Buchseiten oben rechts vom Umblättern abgegriffen seien. Da blättere ich nie um, sondern unten in der Mitte.

When I was a youngish and dumbish psych pro doing 12 step groups and recovery sessions for addicts… I was invited to spend a season doing tx on an anorexic unit. My prev approach was maddeningly unhelpful. The only path seemed a slow, 1:1 cult deprogramming to that particular population. FFWD to 2023, our fractured US dysinformatzia landscape, reminds me of that complicated cult-think. Homosapiens have revealed their limits again and again. Is global deprogramming the only hope? Shudder. #babel

So, I picked up my current novel — Babel, by R.F. Kuang — around 9pm yesterday. At 2am I was still reading, and grudgingly put it down to avoid being an utter troll today.

It’s an excellent book. Haven’t been quite this gripped in a few years.

Tower of #Babel

Every so often I remember how messy it is to be in the #JavaScript ecosystem. Updating from #React 16 to 17 also requires updating #ESLint which requires updating its plugins (fuck you #AirBnB ), which requires you to update #webpack and it’s loaders/plugins, which requires you update #Babel. This doesn’t even account for any other random libraries you’re using so even then you’ll still end up getting #npm peer dependency errors.

Please tell me there’s a better way…
