This is my main mastodon account, so I post about many topics including #Judaism but also a lot about #Oklahoma and #Peace activism issues.

The sad fact is that reporting #antisemitism on the Fediverse feels a lot like reporting it on Twitter, there's only a 50/50 chance the admins will do anything about it.

Of course #Babka will block the content, or the antisemitic users, but other admins than us aren't as likely to take antisemitism seriously.

Do you think there's something we could do to change this? A workshop perhaps? Or do you think this is just what it is, that antisemitism is ever present for #Jews we have to live with?

Every time #Israel hits the news, there's a rise of antisemitism on the Fediverse. The #Babka mods handle the report, the news goes quiet, and then it happens again, and again.

Sometimes people ask me- why do you need a #Jewish instance? Can't Jews be on general purpose instances, or other themed instances?

My answer is that Jews can be lots of things, and they can be that on Babka too.

But so long as other instances allow antisemitism, we'll be absolutely needed.

Hen Mazzig is a #gay #Mizrahi #Israeli #Zionist who speaks openly about #peace, #coexistence, and the way that for many Jews, #Israel is a lifeline, that without Israel, they would simply not be alive.
