I'm following BABYLON (2022), on Paramount+, up with the movie it sort of remakes, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (1952). (If I can finish it before my HBO Max subscription is over.)
Debbie Reynolds is dreamy.
Gene Kelly is great at the singing and dancing, but he's got nothing on Brad Pitt's charisma.

I know the movie has been polarizing - but Ibreally loved #Babylon . I found it beautiful and a fantastic representation of not only Hollywood’s transition but also America’s in general. The Roaring 20s to post depression America was an incredible shift - not only in how fast it occurred but also the scope of the changes.

It was fun to recognise the citations, but the female lead looked out of the 90s, and overall I never felt a sense of time and place. The message of the movie: actors die, films remain. NO SHIT!
It's not a terrible film; it just leaves you with a question: why?
