But companies need the hard core techies, ones who write code, build applications. As long as you have the skills, you will never be redundant.
Also don't take loose talk about do this, do that seriously. Every language and skill set has it's place, the key is to just keep upgrading.

Is it preferable (performance, code-maintenance, control, ...) to manage these sorts of situations today in the front-end, the back-end or both?
