I went to concerts by both Elton John and Bruce Springsteen this year. One of the greatest joys there was seeing members of their respective bands, who've been with them for 50 years and played on their biggest records. Hearing Davey Johnstone's guitar or Max Weinberg's drums is reliving history and an honor in itself. The love and respect their leaders give them, the long friendship between musicians, truly moved me
