#ANSI: Semicolon is on the home position, the #backslash can be inserted without having to use the shift key, the square & curly brackets are close to the Enter key & the comparison operators & the tilde are much more #comfortable in the #keyboard flow.

@Dianora @modulux According to The Elements of Typographic Style, 2nd edition (Robert Bringhurst):

"[The backslash] is an unsolicited gift of the computer keyboard. Basic though it may be to elementary computer operations, it has no accepted function in typography."

Bringhurst is my go-to reference for such things, but I would be interested to read other takes.
