#TIL If somebody sends you a #tib file (#Acronis #TrueImage which is now called something stupid with #Cyber) you do not need to open an account with them to get a #bootdisk to restore the #backup to a VM or machine. Install the demo version of the abomination of an app into a throwaway VM, go to the install folder, find the amedia.exe (acronismedia.exe?), run it and presto, you can create a reusable #linux #bootmedium from the advanced menu.

Das System, daß ich (wir) damals für Backup und Snapshots gebaut hatten, funktionierte tadellos, und die Skripte waren so gut durchdacht, daß ich sie für die notwendigen Updates etc nutzen konnte.
