Planning to upgrade my disks in my QNAP NAS, I discovered that my existing storage pool is not compatible with snapshots. So a simple raid style upgrade now becomes more complex with backup restore being required.
Take a backup they say, fine but read the small print!! Backup needs to go to ext4 to preserve access permissions! Still trying to figure out the best process for a smooth transition. [1]
