While roses have never been my favorite, I must be doing something right.

I definitely soaked up the colors today. 🌹 πŸ’•

I'm not going to apologize for all the flower photos that will fill my timeline over the next few months. I have a plant obsession, and this is my favorite time of year. I am grateful to live around so much beauty.

Really struggling to find focus . This was one of my favorite flowers from last year. Can't remember the name of the flower.

It's a gray and slightly colder day. I really want spring to hurry up and get here! 😩 Anyway, a picture of a prior garden. It's giving me some motivation.

Going through my photo album. Found my old garden friend. The picture doesn't do justice. Very large.

My final update this week is about my tomatoes. We have had a cool summer in and my tomatoes in my east-facing gardening were growing leaves and not much else - just 2 tomatoes for the whole summer!

But they have loved the hot weather recently. They have shot up and are now the same height as me with new flowers and fruit forming. I had some work to do to stake newly-formed branches.

I only have one tomato plant, but it has spread so much that I couldn't include it all in this photo. Next to it is our lime tree. When we moved in about a year ago, the previous owner said that it had never borne fruit. We have some fruit in it now, but just crossing our fingers that the fruit will ripen in time.

This week I also pruned my potted dipladenias that I want to remain bushy and not climb anything. Dipladenias thrive in hot weather (but keep the watering up), so they are the only plant I prune in summer. The dipladenias I pruned are in the red pots at the back of the photo. Some of the cuttings are on the seat at the front.

Along the fence you can see some dipladenias with pink flowers which we are training along a trellis. There is bamboo growing all along this fence - their dripped leaves are the source of my mulch in the preceding photo.

This week's news: I planted some cyclamen seedlings at the front of the garden bed next to the lemon tree. The tree provides a shady environment even at midday. On the right of this photo you can also see the begonia I planted a few months ago and is liking its new home.

I am using the dried leaves from our bamboo as mulch. I found in a previous garden that bamboo leaves provide excellent mulch for plants

Hops (Humulus lupulus) growing int he garden (variety unknown. These quite invasive perennials (I have found runners 25 feet away) throw off tons of flowers which then can be dried and used for tea and beer making #vegetablegardening

I'm a gardener. I prefer to grow heirloom seeds for rare plants. It takes effort but it's worth it.

Here's another Zinnia, Giant of California - one of my favorite flowers. Produces giant blooms, pretty much all summer.

A link to my favorite seed source. rareseeds.com/

Sometimes I love to just browse through all the colors and plot the future. Makes me feel better when it's cold outside. 🧁

I hate to admit it, but, as a woman on social media, if a man with no common interests and no shared history follows me...I block him.
So if you don't mention or even in your profile...or even some sort of craft.
If we've had even one conversation about stuff above or maybe , I feel less threatened.
