Yesterday I repaired the pond waterfall channel. It was hard work and I'm not even sure the repair is going to work because it turns out I am terrible at this kind of thing. Fingers crossed I don't find out the whole thing is going to just crumble away. If the concrete actually sets, I think I'm going to supplement with some pond waterfall foam.

As suspected, our pump was not sufficient for the task and it was not in the optimal location. It is now! The pond guy gave me great instructions on the new filter and how to make the repairs to the stream. I have everything on hand and I'm ready!

I'm also looking forward to stocking some new fish when everything is settled down.

Yesterday, the pond guy came to clean out our pond and replace the filtering system. They rearranged the fish hiding spots and to be honest it looks fantastic. Our three remaining fish have been using it. Today I will rebuild part of the waterfall stream that recently started leaking so Adventures with Concrete! 1/2

This morning, the pond PH is finally in the safe range, and the water is clearer. Still planning another water change today though. It's cool out right now so I'll check the PH again in the afternoon.

Tiny tadpoles are out along with other pond inhabitants. I couldn’t see what I was filming (phone jammed in water), you'll want to pause it to see how many things you can identify. Not all tadpoles are swimming, much less horizontal. I spotted 4 or 5 tadpoles, a mosquito larvae, tiny snails, and maybe a dragonfly larvae up by surface. What are bubble things at end? Just bubbles?

Don't mind the dog barking (not a dog fish). 🐕
