Now that #baconreader no longer works on #reddit I have deleted my 11 year old account. My subreddit had already been set to private and I had already removed the "social" link to reddit from my website, but as of today I will officially no longer use that site. Reddit joins a growing list of social media websites I have quit over the years which include myspace, facebook, and twitter. Good riddance.

Difference between #reddit and #Twitter: reddit API stopped working on the day they said it would stop working. Half a year after the alleged Twitter API shutdown it still works for some.

Absolute tragedy what's going on with #reddit right now. I've been using #baconreader for years and the official app is such a wreck. Guess I'll be spending more time on #mastodon going forward, especially with how the people at the top have chosen to manage things. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Since I've been using the Baconreader app for a majority of my reddit use, I won't be able log back on after the deadline. While I will be able to use it on a PC, I don't see myself using the site for nearly as much time as I did before. I will go back to get the occasional tip or advice on tech/products, but more than likely my time on reddit will be pretty much over, much like Twitter.

So, I’ve deleted one of my most beloved apps from my phone in solidarity with Reddit going dark; #BaconReader. My go to app to browse Reddit for many years. It’s a shame, it most likely has been fun, mostly. Maybe they’ll revert the changes, but most likely not. So, let me state with all possible sarcasm and cynicism;
