Patrick Doran (c. 1893-1965) was a member of the Northern Territory's early #Bahai Faith community. We don't know much about his early life although he may have been originally from Belfast. Government employment records show him working on the North Australia Railway between 1945 and 1958 and living at a fettlers' camp at 22 Mile (modern day Wishart) near Darwin. In 1954, he married a Wadjigingy woman named Alice Mulgar Marananggu, and the two of them lived at a property at 10 Mile (near Berrimah) until his death in 1965. He is buried in Darwin General Cemetery.
