One of the happier parts of my job is having some well known wine personalities come through town to show off interesting new offerings (here, their Solera sparkler). This is William Wouters and Filipa Pato of the Pato winery in Bairrada, Portugal. You should know them (and the region, with its signature red grape, Baga). Nice people, fine wines. Território Vivo Baga 2020.

A brilliant red wine with focus on fruit, with a lovely freshness and wonderful balance. In the taste there are dark fruits and berries and hints of blood orange & herbs. Fine tannins & light notes of oak barrel and amphora dryness. Really good stuff!
