Biodiversity loss?
Wildlife crimes have become a regular occurrence in Ballarat. Dog attacks, fishing line/hook entanglements or mutilation, cruelty, destruction of wildlife by humans.
“Four decapitated black swans, a possum with its tail cut off and a headless ibis are among harmed animals to have been found at the popular nature spot over the past few years.”

I've been in Ballarat since Monday. Not the best conditions for landscape photography and I've had a major relapse with my pneumonia.

Still, I managed to have a leisurely walk around the Botanical Gardens and Lake Wendouree yesterday.

Decided early yesterday I would sleep in this morning before heading back to Naarm and I'm glad I didn't try to shoot the lake due to this heavy fog.

BinBot is operational. Still got a lot of cleaning up to do with the code, and play around with the icons a bit, but it works. @Raspberry_Pi Pico + Waveshare e-paper hat + micropython… pulls the data from the council API and then finds your bin days based on the address you set in the config.

Next up I’ll design/print a little magnetic case so it can stick to the fridge.

But really I just popped in to show you a drawing I did. I’ve been meaning to do a series of these for ages and finally got around to it by popping in to FEAR art space in to sit down and spend some focused time.

That's a pretty cool finding. Why are tigers orange, if they need to be camouflaged in green bushes? Well, they aren't necessarily orange. The tiger's prey are mostly mammals - and they see the tiger as green. So is the orange or green?

I actually learned this fact at the keeper talk at Park. Pretty cool 👍. Paper from Camo Lab : royalsocietypublishing.org/doi

“As creative labour has been reclassified and flattened as 'content' and technology platforms have further controlled the flow of revenue in the creative industries, artists, creators, cultural institutions, policy makers and philanthropists have been playing catch up.

In this spicy in-person conversation, led by arts advocate Esther Anatolitis, Cory Doctorow and Rebecca Giblin will take you on a journey through this 21st century creative landscape which has now been designed to separate creative laborers from the value they create at every possible point.”
