#bananas are not supposed to taste tingly or burny. Neither are cucumbers, melons, sunflower seeds, zucchini, celery, oranges, peaches, tomatoes, apples, almonds, carrots, cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, pears, or plums.
If you have a burny or tingly taste when you eat a banana or banana bread or something like that, you probably have some form of oral allergy syndrome, and should have a doctor check you for sensitivity to pollen.

54 followers · 552 posts · Server kolektiva.socialThe 2 oldest banana circles are finally hitting their stride about a year later. Cowpeas and sweet potatoes are the primary groundcover, 4 varieties per circle with pineapples and ginger mixed in as well.
Working on our soil is a long project, so seeing plants start to do something resembling thriving is super reassuring.
The newer 2 circles are not as joyful but that makes sense, as they have had months less time to break down mulch and food scraps and get roots all situated.

Biodiversity is the alternative solution. Right now, the whole supply chain is curated to the Cavendish variety but that is increasingly untenable. Eating fewer and more diverse bananas β such as the Blue Java or Monzana varieties β might be the next best bet".
