Seeking advice on kit for #MusicProduction.
Kiddo is coming up to 12th birthday, has a pretty good ear for a beat, and loves making stuff in #BandLab.

What's a good progression from this, a small #sequencer that will work with laptop and DAW? Any additional kit needed? (we have mics, leads, mixers, amps and speakers already)

Ooo recording stuff, fun! I record my practices on my iPhone with #BandLab so I can play while hearing it through the monitor function, but that's it for my "recording" stuff. Some day I'd like to have a room in my abode that includes a little recording set-up and fun gadgets like a loop pedal etc.

That makes sense to me about performing. I used to use the "threat" of performing to help me practice more. Years ago, when I was living in a city with a lot of musical friends, I decided that I would not say no if anyone ever asked me to play something for them, which inspired me to always have at least a few songs rehearsed and polished enough for that (terrifying) moment.

I hope you have fun experimenting with recording :).

I may not be the right fit (or even have the spoons to try), but if you can give me some instructions about what you want, and maybe hear the AI that's close but not right, maybe I could try and we could see just for funzies! Also, have you tried #BandLab? It's the software I use to record my practices and for the monitoring function, but it's really designed for people to find other musicians to collaborate with. Maybe here would be a good place to look too?

Haha, no, I totally get it! I have an old original song (most of my original songs are more like art projects I'm proud to have completed than, like, songs I'm proud to have created, if that makes sense?) I don't even know if I can play any more, but the intention was to make it a sort of guided meditation about emotional storms rolling in and then making it to the calm of the other side, so you're speaking my language.

Sounds like such a cool project and I wish you all the motivation, focus, and right connections!

Huh. Turns out that you can actually export any recordings you've made with #Bandlab as WAV files. You just can't do so on the Android and iOS (iPadOS) apps, though, only via the web browser (or progressive web app).

I really should have Googled this over a year ago when I was recording the bass track for my band's third original song as that was my first time using BandLab as my main DAW.

I'm about to release a new song for a #BandLab monthly song contest. I had to remix an existing track, which turned into a pop song and got some German lyrics. There aren't even any guitars included this time.

Now the lyrics were inspired by a picture my brother and his wife made, kinda got me into the idea of writing on this topic at some point. So I used that picture as cover art for my song 'Windwärts'.

currently annoyed that the #bandlab app doesn't appear to have an option to copy or cut a piece of audio from one project and paste it into another. am I crazy, or should this be a thing for audio mixing applications?? I haven't tried it on a desktop yet tho, maybe I'll be able to figure it out there
