[31] Obviously, there is no such thing as a favourite RPG OF ALL TIMES, because people change.
But I nominate #BandOfBlades . I don’t know if I’ll ever play it again – but I’ll probably annoy everyone for the next decades by talking about how awesome it is. ^^

Having said this, there are some more complex #ttrpgs I would like to (re) explore:
#Runequest 3rd ed. (not Glorantha) In theory, I like the system. As an archaeologist by training, I‘m fascinated how RQ reflects 19th/20th century concepts of pre-modern societies
#BandOfBlades I even have a complex game-lovin group who wants me to run it for them: alas, I‘m truly intimidated by the rules
#Gurps …bc it has been a while I met old auntie GURPS 👵 Is she doing fine?

[23] Coolest looking RPG book … so, today is #MörkBorg day, right? I never played it nor am I especially interested, but it’s the first to come to mind. Great #coffeetable RPG.
But actually … most RPG books I own are beautiful. If they were not; I wouldn’t have bought a physical copy.

My #RPGaDay #RPGaDay2023 catchup continues - 3 first game bought this year.

It was #BandOfBlades , #FitD game. I was enhancing my own Warhammer Fantasy #FitD #hack and found out that Band of Blades had some kind of corruption mechanic as well, so I wanted to check it out.

Seems like an interesting game overall. Maybe I should test it out some day :)

We took the northern route over the mountains. Our Chosen was #Shreya, our Broken were #Blighter and #Breaker.
We spend a very long time in #Plainsworth preparing for the mountains (four or five rounds, I think) and only left when the mayor of the city betrayed us because he was blackmailed by the Broken.

Not sure if I'll get to run/play #BandofBlades with my current group. The troupe style play of the Legion doesn't really appeal them. Nor does the Command Staff roles

I am pondering doing a solo game using #Ironsworn, where my character is following after the Legion trying to catch them before they reach Skydagger Keep

Could use the Ironsworn Oracles (plus the #FitD Fortune Rolls) to determine the state of the Legion and what my character would be walking into as they trail behind

... hmmm

I keep returning to Band of Blades

Something about the vibe of it just appeals to me as a reader and a gamer

I'm completely baffled by the Reddit poster who is adamant that #BandOfBlades #TTRPG sucks because they apparently didn't know it has an explicit fail condition. Like this is somehow not spelled out in the game.

*How* they wouldn't have known this, I have no idea. It's spelled out very clearly. Even without the mechanics the back of the book makes it pretty plain you're racing against time, and if you fail you gonna die.

Just read a Reddit post by someone who apparently has no idea how #BandOfBlades works and now I want to run or play in a BoB game.

Quelqu'un a déjà joué à Band of Blades dans un autre contexte? L'horreur c'est pas mon truc, et ça a l'air difficile de l'atténuer.

Every group adds their own details to the world of #BandOfBlades . I’d like to share some of ours.

The #Panyar have a cyclical conception of time, which is reflected in their language. It doesn’t distinct grammatically between past and future, which is especially interesting for prophecies because you never know if something happened a long time ago or will happen in a distant future.
A Panyar would say: Both, because events are like the change of seasons.

Our last session #BandOfBlades was a though one, but I got to discipline the Sekiro snake (yes, there is a Sekiro snake in our game) and she was a very good girl.
...maybe, because she absorbed the soul or something of one of my comrades, but hey - details. ^^
