Recently, while on holidays, I exposed my beloved #banglejs2 to sea water, and while I managed to get it working again, the units of battery life are now days instead of weeks.
I have my old #PebbleTimeSteel around, which still works. But: You need an app to set the time. Thus, I embarked on a mission to bring #RockWork to #UbuntuTouch 20.04, found an attempt by someone else and did some more renaming ... it builds and launches, but rockworkd does not get started yet

I think something is up with my #bangleJS2
It's died completely since taking this screenshot
Fa uns dies vaig portar aquesta app per mesurar el consum de bateria i altres indicadors com la temperatura, backlight, etc al meu #banglejs2 .. pero com que la bateria dura dos mesos encara no acabo d'interpretar la grafica :<
Hmmm Alright, I fell for a bangle.js 2 smart watch๐
Pros: privacy respecting smart watch, doesn't send your stuff to any cloud
Sunlight readable, 4 week battery life, JavaScript, and tons of free apps
Cons: haven't found any yet ๐

I'm looking to replace my #Pebble Time with something open source. I really miss the ability to tinker that I had on my #PineTime which sadly stopped working. Currently looking at both #sqfmi's #Watchy or a #banglejs2, both both seem to come with some compromises. I live in France/Belgium, so it would need to be rain-proof... would also love to text with my voice, but I don't think either of these have a mic. Are there any other #smartwatch projects out there with the right hardware for this?

Ich wรผrde die #BangleJS2 vor allem empfehlen, wenn du experimentieren, coden, lernen und individualisieren mรถchtest. Die Zeit anzeigen, kann sie aber auf jeden Fall.

Regarding the step counting I can tell you that the banglejs2 is not reliable ATM. Same applies currently to the pulse measurement while moving.
Integration of other typical smartwatch features is quite good (#gadgetbridge & #banglejs2).
I have been wanting a smartwatch โ to tinker around with.
I just ordered a #PineTime from #Pine64
I love these guys and can't wait to try it out.
I had also been looking at the #banglejs2 but it's quite a bit more expensive than the PineTime. It looks really intriguing though.
Do any of you have experience with the Bangle js 2?
If you have a #bangleJS 2 watch, I'd be really grateful if you could test something for me. Try uploading my geminiclock app from here and let me know if the app icon in your watch menu appears as a number 11 (icon from another app as placed in the app-icon.js file) or, as it appears on my watch, the number 23 (icon in the app.png file): https://blogmywiki.github.io/BangleApps/ยญ?q=gemini

@drnfc have you already checked the Bangle.js 2? https://www.espruino.com/Bangle.js2
@hamblingreen Nice! I may just grab a set of #PineBuds now. And if you ever get around to trying the #BangleJS2, I'd love to see what you have to say.
