Wondering how well-populated #banjodon is right now?

I’m making a concerted effort to improve my beginner playing again with Dan Levenson, Josh Turknett and Evie Ladin materials.

I’d started with Dan’s #ClawhammerBanjoFromScratch book but recently bought the DVD. Wow! Just working with early days #DropThumb exercises and loving it! Dan and Josh seem to be on the same page with drop thumb and even just using it as a rhythmic tool makes things so much more interesting.

I’ve never been to the States but the mountain modal sound flicks a switch deep inside so I’m looking forward to learning a few of those tunes in the future.

I’ve an #Ozark 2109G and a #RecordingKing RK37 right now. I’ve fitted back-facing planetary geared tuners to the Ozark as I really disliked the stock ones. I had railway spikes put on both, but I use the plastic pen tops hack if I need to capo (from double C to double D for now). I use a G7 capo for the other strings.

Oh yeah, anyone know where everyone went from #BanjoHangout that isn’t FB, IG or TW? Would love to know if there’s a #Fedi hangout that I just haven’t come across. 🪕😁
