Did my first post-COVID double training session today. 45 minute upper body strength focusing on chest, back and biceps, this morning. Followed by a 35 minute base run after lunch. Felt really good to have the energy for a double and felt AMAZING to do my first barbell workout in my own home gym.

Workout Tonight:
* Overhead Press: 5x8 @ 150lbs (68kg).
* Push Press: 4x6 . @ 160lbs (73kg)
* Close grip bench/barbell rows: supersetted 1x12, 1x11, 1x10 @ 165lbs (75kg).
Overhead press was tough. I failed the last rep of the last set, which I guess should've been predictable given last week was a real grinder. Push presses were also tough to get. Decided to opt into a bit more bench/row work to switch it up. That felt good!

🏋🏻 6 semaines de squats 🚀
Pendant un mois et demi, je me suis concentré sur mes squats, avec l’objectif de gagner en force dans ce mouvement fondamental.
Avec une base de 150 kg, j’ai progressé régulièrement de 10 kg par intervalle de 15 jours, pour arriver à valider une barre de 180 kg assez proprement. Inutile de vous dire que je suis plutôt content de moi 😇

So I messed up my back two and a half weeks ago and haven’t really done anything til this week. Started with some mobility stuff. Today I decided fuck it, I’m gonna do some deadlifts with my open trap bar, since I’ve barely used it. I worked up to 275lbsx1. Then I ran out of plates. It went up ok but my grip gave out as soon as I got to the top. I really need more plates…and to work on my grip I guess. Also I couldn’t do 275lbs before anyway so I guess that’s a win. #fitness #workout #barbell

@Paperbacks_n_Frybread No need to be sorry. It's not your fault I slipped on wet pavement and fouled up my ankle. But my doctor had kittens when I told her I had taken up #weightlifting when she insisted I get more exercise. She doesn't want me anywhere near a #barbell until mid-January. Hell, even bodyweight squats are out.
I'll probably have to start with an empty barbell again. Might even be a good idea if it helps me improve my form.
