Nope, not a turkey leg! The buds are *just* breaking dormancy. Lots of good instructions, too. I've got three named cultivars of the native black chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa), and one Juneberry (Amelanchier alnifolia). (Waiting for a second Juneberry cultivar from a different company.)

One of the things I love about small, #familyOwned nurseries - especially #permaculture type nurseries - is how so much of their packaging is #recycled. The tan plastic is part of a wood pellet fuel bag, the stiffener stick is just rough sawn scrap w/ the bark still on and the stems are held in place with baling twine.
