Remembering Barrett Strong (February 5, 1941 – January 29, 2023) whose song Money was Motown's first hit and wrote lyrics to many Norman Whitfield-produced classics. He co-wrote the superb Do You Want My Love (1975) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV-meUPmw40 for his first solo LP Stronghold.

The backing band featured Funk Brothers "Wah Wah" Watson (aka Melvin Ragin) on guitar and Eddie "Bongo" Brown on congas, with Ray Parker Jr. also on guitar and two other Raydio members on drums.

The late great #BarrettStrong claims that he co-wrote #Money (That's What I Want) with #BerryGordy and #JanieBradford. (After all, Strong's piano riff comprises about 50% of the song.) His name was removed from the copyright registration 3 yrs after Money was written, restored in 1987 when the copyright was renewed, and then excised again the following year. Gordy has stated that Strong's name was only INCLUDED because of a... clerical error???
