Today’s #baseballcard of the day is a 1960 #Topps Willie McCovey #allstar card. Spending most of his career with the #SanFranciscoGiants Big #Stretch slugged 521 #homeruns and 1,555 #rbis. He holds the #record for the most #homers hit in Candlestick Park. He provided a potent back-to-back punch with his co-#halloffame member Willie Mays. I saw Mays & McCovey play in the first #baseball game I ever saw in person. Stretch passed away in 1980. #mlb #SportsHistory #sanfrancisco #giants

Today’s #baseballcard of the day is a 1960 #Topps Ted Kluszewski. Big Klu put up impressive career #stats of 279 #homeruns 1028 #rbis and a .298 #battingaverage. Best known for his days with the #cincinnatireds his greatest games may have been in the 1959 #worldseries. As a member of the #gogo #chicagowhitesox he hit 3 #homers knocked in 10 #runs and hit .391 in a losing effort. As a #coach he played a key role in developing the #bigredmachine of the 1970s. #baseball #polish

Today, I’m sharing my 1954 #Bowman Roy Campanella. #Campy was already an established #negroleagues #allstar #catcher when the #brooklyn #dodgers signed him in 1948. He continued his stellar play, culminating in the Dodgers’ 1955 #worldchampionship. Sadly, his career was cut short in 1958 when his car flipped on an icy road, breaking his neck and leaving him paralyzed. Good news for anyone following my unimportant little #baseballcard saga. The USPS delivered both cards (the Rosen and the Erskine) just now. I do wish they hadn't marked the first one as delivered yesterday, kicking all of this BS off, but c'est la guerre.

I have another #baseballcard supposedly arriving today. It's also a '56 Topps, a Carl Erskine. I'm going to bring it to my Dad so he can see if Carl will sign it, since they both live in tiny #Indiana. Dad once saw Carl play the national anthem on the harmonica at a #Fever game 😂. Obviously I'm very antsy listening for the delivery in case someone grabs this one too.

Well, it finally happened. A #baseballcard delivery got stolen from my porch. The most upsetting part is that it was a single card, which means if the deliverer had thought to put it in my mailbox it would have been fine. It only cost $5 (an ungraded 1956 Topps Al Rosen, go Jews!) but I'm sad. Naturally I coped by stuffing my face with a Brenda's Meat and Three #brunch.

we found my old #BaseballCard collection while going through my grandparents house. i thought this was all lost 15 years ago. now i have to go through it all. 😱
