Simple Linux Kernel Picker
I run Fedora in my home-lab as the base OS for my server. It works well for me but I do occasionally run into an issue where Fedora will make a new kernel available before the ZFS project has support for it. When that happens I have to change from the most current kernel to something that I can have a dkms module built f

With Bash, developers can do lots of computer processes right from the terminal without ever having to use their mouse or keyboard for interaction. Learn Bash. - https://hackernoon.com/how-to-use-bash #bash #bashscript
I wrote a script to resolve lists of domains from stdin, since dnsx and the like does not like my VPN settings.

Trying to sharpen my Bash skills. Is there a smarter way of doing this? (of course there is)
Suggestions?

100 days of code BASH edition
π» Day 4 created my own system variable, made persistent within the .bashrc file.
[export hoy="$((date +"%H") | awk '{if ($1 < 12) print "morning"; else if ($1 >= 12 && 1 < 17) print "afternoon"; else if ($1 >= 17 && $1 < 20) print "evening"; else print "night";}')"] (OpenAI GPT-3 script with few corrections) Displays the time of day in morning/afternoon/evening/and night format!

The satisfying part does not come from writing in #BashScript, but from the final result.
I am playing a bit with #BashScript during the holidays. It feels like learning how to program all over again. Very satisfying, though.
Why BSD? Well OK I am using a forked version of it now on an Ipad and was very impressed with the integrity of some versions. But so slow compared to my long time fav #Puppy #Linux β¦
Now I am using other Linux such as #Raspbian #Manjaro β¦ BSD is too slow. Am I missing something?
Incidentally my first Linux was #Slackware as recommended by #slackers β¦
Also programmed in some obscure languages but probably favour #bashscript

Hi everyone! I'm Andy. I'm a #BackEnd software engineer focused on #Ruby. I like #Linux, making #BashScript(s), #OpenSource and other things of that sort.
Also big into the #Gaming side of mastodon, mostly #SteamDeck.
If you like these things follows, boosts, and follow recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'd be happy to return the favor.
Also if anyone needs help with the #TwitterMigration, I'm happy to help. π¦£π¦£π¦£
