Just got the paperback version of #basicfantasy 3E. Love the simplicity! Haven't played it yet, but what a great system, and what an amazing bargain.

First things first: You should play what inspired you, lest the inspiration vanishes again.

But since you showed interest I'd still like to second WanderingBeekeper's opinion. WotC has been very hostile to small creators, people of colour and queer folks over the last years.

No need to get into the hobby's politics yet and obviously there's no harm in using stuff that's already been bought and paid for, but when it comes to spending money, there are many other options, many of which do not cost any money to start with and less than D&D going onwards.

For Tabletop Tuesday, I received print copies of these books in the mail today!

After a quick flip-through, I really like the re-purposing of the D&D rules to be concise and pared down. The first campaign book has some classic dungeon crawls to get the imagination started.

I think I'll be able to use these for a game where I'm running Keep on the Borderlands... 🤔

Basic Fantasy RPG creators needed art for a Clothing - Outerwear section in the Equipment Emporium supplement. I decided a tabard, a longcoat, and a cloak would be the most fun to draw for it.

I added some grey tones to this and I like how they came out! (the books are always printed in black and white so any art I create for the project will be the same)

I backed this #Kickstarter for a #DnD5e supplement, and the #OGL nonsense threw it for a loop. Fortunately they're pressing ahead, but I think after this I'm done buying anything related to #DnD and #WoTC. If I were a creator, I'd shift my efforts to other game systems, like #BasicFantasy. #DnD already has so much as it is, and there's room for doing interesting things with other systems. Then again, you gotta go where there's money to be had. #ttrpg

There are alternatives to #DnD. #BasicFantasy is one folks might enjoy, and it could certainly use some enrichment in terms of backgrounds, classes, adventures, etc.

Whatever...just build on something that won't be screwed up by a for-profit corporation.

What's nice about using #BasicFantasy is that after the game, I can send the players a link to download the whole game for free.

Just finished running my last #TTRPG one-shot for the year.

Ran my #Mastodungeon entry - Seer of Mendacium, using the #BasicFantasy #OSR rules.

Haven't run B/X in a while, and forgotten how surprisingly smoothly it runs.

Ok playing with an game master emulator is so cool. My kids enjoy it alot. Mythic. Crge. Solum are awesome for that. Turn the wheel of fortune and come up with that much unexpected twists. #rpg #basicfantasy #solorpg #gme

enyone playing #d6dungeon or #freeformuniversial or even #basicfantasy . I'm currently thinking about playing that with my oldest one but i'm pretty new to #rpg #penandpaper how would someone start to write it's own adventure or are there free ones for this systems besides the tutorial ones.
