Any #Batocera users out there? Trying to setup a nice arcade experience in my living room and I *really* want to use a curvature shader with mask for CRT effect, but I'm getting these artifact pattern which makes it hard on the eye especially during scrolling as these artifacts creates a shimmer.

I'm also getting freezes soon after emulation starts, which holds for about 3 seconds, then no problem at all. This is annoying.

Any ideas?
I'm on RPi 4 4GB and 4K, overclocked max with sink and fan

But re-scraping my roms and one thing really bothering me is the inconsistencies about subtitles in the metadata.

After frying the mac mini I got a lil bummed, but a good boy doesn’t stay down long. I tested #Batocera on the HP all-in-one and it blows the mac mini out of the water. All the systems that struggled on the mac mini run like butter. I might not be able to connect this to my main TV, but this is literally turn on and play.

Anyone here experienced with #Batocera #Linux ? Trying to set it up on my old Alienware Alpha Steam-Machine, but I cannot for the life of me get the #pcsx2 config to launch from the application folder.

Any advice?

After much tinkering, I got too annoyed with #Batocera and moved over to #Lakka. It is overall easier to add games and play, but has some annoying quirks. Oh and I sticker bombed the front of the case!

It went for this to this! Now I can play my retro games on a SSD (more easily) bay-beeeeee!

Oh, and I now have active cooling to boot 😎

Started up the #kubuntu testbed....

Preso a 100 euri su Amz (non lo pubblicizzo, tanto ci sono vari venditori) questo piccolissimo mini PC con 8 GB di ram, con i5-4590T . Non capisco l'ampia giacenza, ma a questo prezzo è un affare. Ci ho fatto subito una retro machine con #Batocera, e gira qualsiasi rom, non fa rumore, consuma pochissimo (col OS attivo task standard ho misurato solo 6W col wattometro!). Se cercare #HWcheap in luogo degli inavvicinabili #RP4 #raspeberry (e ricicliamo HW), per n progetti casalinghi, lo consiglio!

Got this Optiplex 5050 small form factor for about $81 to turn into a TV gaming PC, I need to replace the power supply if I plan to use a dGPU, but so far it manages emulation perfectly fine #linux #linuxgaming #batocera #batoceralinux
