The issue of non-UL certified #ebike #batteries isn't just an issue of ebikes (and #scooters). Li-ion batteries are everywhere. You would think that legislators would be interested in general regulation of batteries and charging systems, but apparently not. 🤷‍♂️

There's also newer types of lithium batteries (li-polymer) that aren't as flammable in the case of failure.
