A few years ago Dr Anne Curry at the University of Southampton undertook a project to transcribe hundreds of Medieval rolls containing the names of knights, men at arms & archers who were taking part in the 100 Years War.
To my great surprise, my Medieval Nowell family from in appeared in the database 88 times.
This enabled me to research several of the campaigns.
