Ok folks, so I'm playing Battle of Wesnoth (@wesnoth) with Lucy (likely playing as Elves) and Hamish (likely playing as Undead) tonight. I'm thinking of play as Alliance, but I haven't fully decided.

Congratulations to @LucyCorbett who decisively beat me at #BattleForWesnoth.

She went with a mostly Dwarvern army with Gryphon riders; I had Alliance infantry with a light calvary.

This is a screenshot from "Stranger in Wesnoth", my first Battle for Wesnoth campaign. And because I was totally inexperienced at writing campaigns, I jumped in at the deep end and made my own custom sprite. Here's Mr Davenport, a British spy who has been dropped into the middle of Wesnoth through an accident, talking to some elves who aren't very friendly at first. Things do get better for him...

I write campaigns for the game Battle for Wesnoth. Here's a close-up showing one of the custom sprites I made. This is Bronna, hero of "Comrades in Arms". The background information says that humans in Wesnoth come in all colours, but all the sprites are white! So I decided I was going to make one who wasn't. Bronna is a human archer who was brought up by elves, and later in this campaign she meets her new best friend, who's a dwarf.

This was going to be part of a larger work, but I changed my plans. In Battle for Wesnoth, there are dwarves who ride gryphons, which is very cool because it means you have dwarves who can go very fast across most types of terrain (except they're rubbish in caves, but that's what your ordinary dwarves are for). I was going to do a portrait of a dwarven gryphon rider and ended up just doing the gryphon's head. Could have done the feathers better, but overall I'm pleased.
