My feel-good moment from #BayCon last weekend.

A guy runs up to me on the last day, 5 minutes before closing: "I read your book [One Man's Trash] last night. I loved it! It also helped with some issues I've been having with my own sci fi book."

And then he bought a Holtondome / New Denver bundle.

*That* is why I publish.

Day 2 went well. I sold several books, including a few copies of New Denver, and met even more wonderful people. #BayCon has already exceeded my expectations, and there are 2 days left!

Sadly, I have to leave #BayCon early tomorrow morning and put in a shift at work. With any luck, I'll be back around seven, and I still have a lot of #thionite to give away!

(Next year, I may trade in my Smith for Dick, find a source for bright blue candied flowers -- maybe dyed and dried hibiscus -- and package them as Mors Ontologica.)

So, despite pointing out that I'm bi right in my goddamned bio, I feel like there's a shocking lack of representation in my book collection. Lemme just fix that, with a quick visit to the dealer room at #BayCon...

(As a bonus, all three of these books are collections of stories that are less than 500 words. Baby food for my ruined attention span, until I can start eating solids.)

Plans for #BayCon are right on schedule! I'll be packaging these as #thionite in the next couple of days, and giving them out at the con as party favors!

(These forty-eight sticks arrived today. This is my plan B. I've also ordered fifty from a local business. If those arrive in time, I'll be giving out a LOT of party favors!)

So, I know that my home instance of Mastodon doesn't allow porn, and I have no intention of posting any. But... in July, I spent a night at #BayCon cosplaying the character "The Everglades" from the unpublished Chuck Tingle novel "Florida Man Visits The Everglades And Gets Pounded In The Butt." (Photo credit @rszasz ) Will someone with a stick lodged in an uncomfortable place complain if I do something similar next year and toot photos? Now, I'm not so sure.
